Norman-Spencer Agency Inc., a Dayton, Ohio-based national insurance provider and program administrator, has completed the acquisition of Northern Star Management Inc.
Based out of New Jersey since 1997, Northern Star has been an underwriting management company and wholesale producer working with a network of brokers and agents to offer specialized transportation insurance services.
Norman-Spencer said the addition of Northern Star provides a complement to Norman-Spencer’s program offerings. The firm said Northern Star’s four programs — specialty haulers, auto transporters, towing, and collateral recovery —- would broaden Norman-Spencer’s areas of focus. The transportation component will join a line of programs for marine, construction and select specialty markets. Along with an expanded carrier network, Norman-Spencer will add 1,000 agencies to its current distribution network of over 3,000 independent agencies.
With over 10 proprietary in-house property/casualty insurance programs, Norman-Spencer covers industries including transportation, marine, construction, and professional lines.
