The MEMIC Group, a workers’ compensation insurer in Portland, Maine, hired Steven Crobar and Margaret Templeton as senior production underwriters to serve its agents in the state of New York.
Together, Crobar and Templeton bring more than 45 years of insurance industry experience to the MEMIC team. Previously Templeton worked at Acadia Insurance Co. in Albany, New York, as production underwriter. Crobar previously worked at Selective Insurance Co. in Branchville, New Jersey, as agency management specialist.
As senior production underwriters, Crobar and Templeton will be responsible for identifying areas of opportunity and growing new and renewal business. Crobar will be based in Syracuse, New York, with responsibility in Central and Western New York, while Templeton will work from the company’s Albany office with responsibility in the Eastern corridor of the state including Long Island.
MEMIC said New York is MEMIC’s largest state in terms of premium outside of Maine where the company is based.
The MEMIC Group, a regional workers’ comp insurer, includes parent company, Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Co. and MEMIC Indemnity Co., as well as MEMIC Casualty Co.
