IFG Companies announced Louis D. Levinson has joined the company as its new president in New York.
Levinson was originally hired in August of 2013 but had to sit out a year until this month to assume the post because of a 12-month non-compete clause relating to his prior employer. IFG said the president post had been open for a while, since before Levinson accepted the job offer.
Previously, Levinson was president of Argo Group’s Excess and Surplus Lines Division, which includes Colony Specialty and Argo Pro. He had also served as executive vice president of casualty at Ace/Westchester Specialty. In addition, he has held senior positions with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company and the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.
In his new role at IFG, Levinson will oversee underwriting, product development, marketing and business development for IFG and will help lead the execution of IFG’s expansion strategy.
IFG provides property/casualty insurance on both a non-admitted basis and an admitted basis. Coverages are underwritten by IFG’s affiliated insurers: The Burlington Insurance Co., First Financial Insurance Co., Alamance Insurance Co. and Guilford Insurance Co.
