IFG Companies has hired D. Scott Golder as director in its Excess/Umbrella Division. Golder will be based in IFG’s Hartford, Connecticut, office.
For the past 25 years, Golder has held a number of underwriting and managerial roles within The Travelers Companies. While there, he worked for the Specialty Insurance Division of Travelers Insurance, the Umbrella/Excess Department of Gulf Insurance Group and the General Liability operations of Northfield Insurance Company.
In his most recent position within The Travelers, Golder was vice president/chief underwriting officer for Northfield Insurance, including Northfield Solutions. Earlier in his career, he held underwriting positions at The Hartford in its Specialty Excess Casualty Division and at USF&G in its Casualty Division. Golder holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
Founded in 1985, IFG provides property/casualty insurance on both a non-admitted basis and an admitted basis. Coverages are underwritten by IFG’s affiliated insurers: The Burlington Insurance Co., First Financial Insurance Co., Alamance Insurance Co. and Guilford Insurance Co.
