Meeker Sharkey Associates, an insurance agency in Cranford, New Jersey, and James F. Hurley Insurance Agency of Bedminster, New Jersey, have announced their merger. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The two agencies said that by combining their resources, the two firms will broaden their client base, strengthen their combined knowledge base with a deeper team of talented individuals, and provide a wider array of carrier representation.
James F. Hurley Insurance Agency has been serving customers in the tri-state region for more than 60 years, offering personal, commercial, life, health, and employee benefits insurance.
Serving the community since the 1860s, Meeker Sharkey focuses primarily on commercial insurance brokerage and benefits providing risk management and brokerage services. Meeker Sharkey had merged with the insurance division of Summit Bancorp in 2000. In 2007, the firm was re-launched as an independent insurance agency.
