
The Brethren Mutual Insurance Company in Hagerstown, Maryland, has appointed Hope King as the company’s new Farm Underwriting manager. King succeeds MaryAnn Jones who retired after 39 years of service at the company.
Jones has served as Brethren Mutual’s first and only Farm Underwriting manager since 1989 and built many partnerships with Brethren’s agency force. Jones and her staff have grown Brethren Mutual’s Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia Farm line of business to $31 million in written premium.
As Brethren Mutual’s newly appointed Farm Underwriting manager, King will be responsible for overseeing the company’s Farm Underwriting Department and will focus on the profitability, productivity, growth and quality of Brethren’s farm lines of business.
King joined Brethren Mutual in 2011 as Commercial Lines underwriter. She also has 10 years of insurance experience in property/casualty insurance with Liberty Mutual and Utica National.
