Tarpey Insurance Group Inc., a family-owned and operated independent insurance agency with five locations and headquartered in Wakefield, Massachusetts, announced that it recently acquired W.C. Huntress Insurance Agency in the Boston suburb of Melrose, Massachusetts. Terms of the transaction, which became effective Jan. 1, were not disclosed.
W.C. Huntress Insurance has relocated to Tarpey Insurance Group’s Melrose office. W.C. Huntress Insurance’s three employees have joined Tarpey Insurance as part of the transaction, bringing Tarpey Insurance’s employee count to 36.
Founded in 1978, Tarpey Insurance represents 13 standard market carriers offering commercial and personal lines insurance products for both businesses and individuals. The agency’s main office is located in Wakefield with branch offices in Newton, Saugus, Lexington and Melrose, Massachusetts.
