Specialist global insurer Hiscox has appointed Glenn Dorr as head of business development and broker relationships for North America within its London market business.
Dorr joins Hiscox from Lloyd’s USA, where he was responsible for managing cover holder and broker relationships for the Northeast region based in Boston, Mass. With more than 20 years of experience in the U.S. insurance market, Dorr has a track record of growing and developing an insurance business organically. Prior to Lloyd’s, he held business development roles at HCC Specialty, BISYS Specialty Markets and Aon Consulting.
In his new role, Dorr will be based in Boston and work closely with the underwriting teams on both sides of the Atlantic on surplus lines business. He will be focused on helping to drive expansion in Hiscox specialty lines, such as U.S. flood and property binders, where Hiscox sees significant growth opportunities, according to a company press release.
