Officials in Bridgewater, Mass., say a pickup truck with three people inside was hit by a commuter rail train after the truck driver apparently went around a railroad crossing gate.
The Boston Globe reports the accident happened Saturday morning in West Bridgewater and all three were taken to a local hospital. One person was extricated from the truck.
West Bridgewater Police say they suffered injuries that are serious, but are not considered life threatening.
The MBTA Transit Police say the preliminary investigation suggests the truck went around the gate after it was already in the down position.
The MBTA was using shuttle buses to take passengers on the Middleborough Line to Bridgewater.
The crash is under investigation.
