The rear tire of a New Jersey Transit bus struck and killed a woman in Bergen County early Wednesday, the agency said.
The bus was heading to Cresskill from New York’s Port Authority Bus Terminal when the accident occurred in Fairview around 6:45 a.m.
“At the time of the incident, the bus was making a left turn from Anderson Avenue onto Fairview Avenue when the rear driver side tires made contact with the pedestrian,” NJ Transit said in a news release.
Authorities have not released the pedestrian’s name.
“No injuries were reported to the 38 customers or the bus operator on board,” NJ Transit said.
Fairview and NJ Transit Police were investigating.
