Two adults and four children perished in a house fire Sunday morning in Waldorf, Maryland, according to state officials.
Two other adults escaped and one more was not home when the fire broke out, .
The cause of the fire is under investigation. The state fire marshal indicated that investigators will examine all potential causes but there is currently no evidence of a criminal act.
The medical examiner’s office has yet confirm the identities of the victims. The state said it will provide updates on the names and ages in the coming days.
