Rhine Re, the Swiss based reinsurance company controlled by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., has announced that “it is re-branding all its group companies under the one common name of the Alea Group.” The changeover will be made as quickly as possible.
The new name reflects the group’s recent acquisitions of Equus Re in the U.S. and the U.K.’s Imperial Fire & Marine Reinsurance Co. It has also new offices in London and Stockholm, and plans further expansion.
“Our new brand name is a direct reflection of the progress we have made over the last few months,” said CEO Dennis Purkiss, “and supports our aim to build an operation that is truly global in outlook and capability but founded on local offices serving their markets as they know best.”
Alea also announced that Len Goldberg had joined the company to head up a new unit specializing in “risk solutions for major corporate clients.”
