In two moves aimed at strengthening its international presence, Atlanta-based Crawford & Co. announced that it would join the TropicalStormRisk (TM) Consortium, and has agreed to acquire Australia’s Central Victoria Loss Adjusters (CVLA) for an undisclosed price.
Crawford is one of the world’s largest independent providers of diversified services to insurance companies, self-insured corporations and governmental entities. It employs 10,000 people in 700 offices in 65 countries, offering claims management, loss adjustment, healthcare management, risk management, class action administration and risk information services.
The link with TSR will increase the company’s capabilities in tropical storm forecasting and catastrophe modeling techniques for the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, particularly focused on the U.S.,the Caribbean, Japan and Australia.
The acquisition of CVLA strengthens Crawford’s presence in the Australian market by expanding the territory it covers, and furthering its announced goal “of building a stronger national network in Australia.”
