AIG’s principal international property-casualty division, American International Underwriters (AIU) announced the launch of www.aiu.com, “a comprehensive Internet resource designed to provide AIU’s consumer, commercial clients and risk managers with online transactional features such as claims reporting and access to local eCommerce sites, as well as valuable local market and industry information.”
The new site will enable users to submit consumer, commercial and marine claims online, which are then managed by a local AIU claims specialist.” This feature not only expedites the claims process, but also helps eliminate errors that can occur when using ordinary mail or telephone to report claims,” said the announcement.
Users can also search “aiu.com” either by product or country. The site provides a comprehensive directory of AIU’s business lines including Crisis Management, Casualty, Personal Lines, Accident and Health, Marine, Energy, Environmental, Trade Credit and Risk Finance, as well as information on the countries that form AIG’s global network.
“Once a search identifies a product and country, visitors can select contact information on AIG member companies, insurance product information, country-specific economic information and news, as well as worldwide financial and insurance industry news,” said AIG’s release.
