Great Britain reportedly will increase a scheme to insure businesses against terror attacks to include nuclear and biological warfare or a repeat of those on Sept. 11, according to a Reuters report.
Presently known as “Pool Re”—the current state-backed scheme only provides coverage resulting from fire and explosion. The scheme had been formed a decade ago to offer coverage for the threat of attacks from the Irish Republican Army (IRA).
According to the government, the revised scheme will cover destruction that results from biological contamination, usage of aircrafts in attacks, along with damages resulting from floods. Next year, coverage against nuclear contamination will be added.
