British insurance broker Benfield Greig Group reported Aug. 13 it was not in takeover talks, following a report that U.S. insurer Marsh & McLennan was discussing a potential bid with the firm, according to Reuters.
Benfield commented in a statement that no third party had undertaken any due diligence on the company relating to making a possible bid for it.
If Marsh were to purchase Benfield, it would open up access to Benfield’s much regarded computer models, which would help cut costs through the integration of software systems.
