Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., a leading global risk and reinsurance specialist, announced the appointment of David Lightfoot as Managing Director of Instrat Non-Americas.

“In this newly created position, Mr. Lightfoot will continue to report directly to Ryan Ogaard, Global Instrat Leader,” said the announcement. Lightfoot previously managed Instrat’s Western U.S. region.

“David will be instrumental in expanding our network of Instrat specialists who work closely with our account executives to help clients better understand and quantify the uncertainties inherent in their businesses,” Ogaard indicated. “His accounting and finance expertise will be particularly useful as International Accounting Standards are adopted and begin to impact our clients’ reinsurance options. David’s appointment is an exciting development that underscores our commitment to assembling the industry’s leading experts in actuarial science, catastrophe modeling, finance, statistics and other disciplines who come together as a local resource for our clients worldwide.”
