The U.K.’s Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) announced the appointment of John Ellis as the Institute’s first Group Public Affairs Director.
CII Director General Dr. Sandy Scott commented: “John has a wealth of experience of public affairs and lobbying and will be an invaluable addition to the CII Group. In particular, he will considerably add to the CII Group’s efforts to get our messages across effectively to policymakers, regulators and stakeholders.
“This forms a key part of the CII Group strategy to raise standards of professionalism across the sector through our new suite of faculties and societies.”
Currently Public Affairs Director at the LIA, John Ellis will take up the appointment on January 1, 2005 following the merger of the LIA with the Society of Financial advisers to create the Personal Finance Society.
