Popular demand for their previous Business Interruption “Masterclasses” has been so great that the British Insurance Brokers Association (BIBA) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) have scheduled an additional seminar on BI.
BIBA and the CII’s Faculty of Insurance Broking will join with commercial claims specialist, Corporate Claims International (CCI), to deliver an encore of the highly series. “Earlier this year four regional masterclasses, co-sponsored by BIBA and the Faculty, were so popular they were oversubscribed,” said the announcement. “Brokers are therefore being offered one final chance to attend the masterclass, which is to be held at Willis’ London headquarters in Trinity Square on November 25.”
The bulletin notes that the class will feature “real-life, post-loss examples, speakers from independent adjusters, FitzGerald Consulting, and city law firm, Edwin Coe, specialists in insurance litigation will offer practical advice and guidance on how brokers can avoid many of the common pitfalls when placing BI cover (and the ensuing threat of negligence claims); they will also demonstrate how best to support clients in the event of a loss and to maximise prospects for attracting and retaining BI business.”
“It is vital that our members keep up to date on key technical and market issues,” stated Jessica Yeoh, manager of the Faculty of Insurance Broking. “The masterclass programme delivers the content and focus both to enhance customer advice and to support Continuing Professional Development.”
“We are delighted to continue our collaboration with the CII and BIBA,” added Malcolm Stewart, managing director of CCI. “BI is still something of minefield for many brokers, and it is right that we should work together to share knowledge and spread best practice.”
Attendance can be arranged by contacting BIBA’s training department at: training@biba.org.uk, or by contacting: Elizabeth Allison-Training Administrator at:020 7397 0205
