At its meeting today, Feb. 15, the Council of Lloyd’s announced the following appointments:
– Lord Levene was re-appointed as Chairman of Lloyd’s;
– Bronek Masojada, Chief Executive of Hiscox, was re-appointed as Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s;
– Ewen Gilmour, Chief Executive of Chaucer Syndicates Ltd, was appointed as Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s, replacing John Coldman, Chairman of Benfield, whose term of office expired on 31 January 2006; and
– Bill Knight was re-appointed as Deputy Chairman of Council.
Welcoming Ewen Gilmour’s appointment, Lloyd’s Chairman, Lord Levene stated: “Ewen brings to the role of Deputy Chairman an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Lloyd’s market and experience of the wider financial services sector. I look forward to working with him in the future.”
Commenting on his appointment, Gilmour indicated: “I am delighted to be appointed as Deputy Chairman at such a key time for the market. I look forward to helping Lloyd’s develop as an even stronger insurance world leader.”
