Platinum Underwriters Holdings, Ltd. announced from its Bermuda headquarters the appointment of Kenneth A. Kurtzman as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of Platinum Administrative Services, Inc., a Platinum subsidiary, effective as of March 15, 2006.
President and CEO Michael D. Price commented: “Ken and I have worked closely together in the past and we are very pleased to have him join our executive team. He is an experienced and highly qualified individual who will provide a valuable contribution to Platinum.”
Kurtzman held a number of senior positions at Swiss Re prior to joining Platinum. He most recently served as Sr. VP-Head of Casualty Underwriting at Swiss Re Underwriters Agency, Inc., and while based in Zurich was responsible for group-wide property and casualty risk management from October 2002 to July 2004. He has a degree in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society.”
