Atlas Insurance Management, an independent insurance management and consulting company, announced from its headquarters in Georgetown, Grand Cayman, the appointment of Nicholas Leighton as Group Managing Director for the Atlas worldwide operations.
He has sixteen years of captive management experience in “both Cayman and Guernsey and has previously worked as a director with Aon, Willis, SRS and Caledonian,” said the announcement. “He is a Scottish Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management and non executive director of Hartville Group Inc, a US listed pet healthcare group.”
Atlas’ Chairman Martin Eveleigh commented: “I am delighted that someone of Nick’s caliber will be leading our operations. He has the international experience, technical knowledge and personal qualities to take Atlas to the next level.”
Atlas currently manages in excess of 110 captives and cells domiciled in the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Nevis and Anguilla. Atlas offers access to affiliated cell companies and life insurers in four jurisdictions.
