Guy Carpenter & Company, Inc., the global risk and reinsurance specialist of the Marsh & McLennan Companies, announced that John Carroll has joined the firm’s Sydney office as Senior Vice President and Head of Broking, effective August 1. In his new role, he will be responsible for the management of Guy Carpenter’s regional broking team and overseeing client service across Australia and New Zealand, reporting to Scott Grove, head of Guy Carpenter’s Australian and New Zealand operations.
“We are extremely pleased that John has agreed to join our team in Sydney,” Grove stated. “His extensive insurance experience in the Australian and New Zealand markets will prove invaluable as we continue to strengthen our operations and build on our client service capabilities.”
Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, Carroll headed Swiss Re’s Client Management team for Australia and New Zealand, where he began his career in 1991. From 1994 until 1999, he worked in Swiss Re’s Melbourne office, then from 2002 to 2004 oversaw the firm’s New Zealand operations.
