XL Insurance, the global insurance operations of Bermuda’s XL Capital Ltd., announced the promotion of Colin Sprott and Chris Smith in its Marine and Offshore Energy division.
XL named Sprott as Chief Underwriting Officer for the operation, based in London. Prior to his appointment, Sprott was Chief Underwriter Officer, Marine and Offshore Energy, with responsibility for Europe and Asia as well as the London Market. He joined XL Insurance in 1998 and has over 20 years of experience in the industry.
Smith has been appointed Chief Underwriting Officer, Marine & Offshore Energy – Americas. He is based in New York and has more than 20 years of industry experience, including seven years with XL Insurance.
