A.M. Best Co announced that Nick Charteris-Black will be joining the rating agency during the first quarter of 2008 as Director – Global Financial Services for A.M. Best Europe.
He will be located in Best’s London office and will report directly to Roger Sellek, Managing Director – Global Financial Services. He will assume responsibility for “managing existing relationships and developing new relationships with key constituents in the insurance and broader financial services sectors in the United Kingdom, Continental Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia,” said Best. “He will also provide input on rating criteria and work closely with the senior analytical and business development staff in Oldwick, London and Hong Kong.”
Charteris-Black is currently the Head of Capital & Broker Relationships at Lloyd’s of London, a post he has held for more than five years. He is responsible for relationship management with major capital providers and leading brokers, and for promoting the Lloyd’s market to international reinsurance cedants and major direct clients in the UK, U.S., Europe and Asia Pacific. He also has “front-line” responsibility for potential new entrants to Lloyd’s.
Larry Mayewski, Executive Vice President and Chief Rating Officer at A.M. Best said the Company was “extremely pleased that Nick Charteris-Black has decided to join our organization.
