Zurich Financial Services Group has announced the appointment of Ann Haugh (37, US citizen) to the position of Chief Operating Officer for Global Corporate, effective January 1, 2009.
“In this role, she will oversee the execution of Global Corporate’s strategic goals on Zurich’s operating models, project portfolio management, International Program Business Operations, information technology, compliance, risk management, and communications,” said the bulletin.
Haugh replaces Kristof Terryn who was recently promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer for General Insurance. She will be based in Zurich and will report to Mario Vitale, CEO Global Corporate. She rejoined Zurich in 2007, and has been Chief Operating Officer for Global Corporate in North America.
Haugh spent several years as Chief Underwriting Officer and Chief Operating Officer for the Executive Assurance Division of Arch Insurance Company in the US. Prior to that, she served Zurich in several underwriting and management roles. She holds a bachelors degree in communication studies and journalism from Northwestern University, USA.
