Marsh has appointed Neil Irwin to lead the firm’s new client development across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). He will be based in London, and will report to Chris Lay, Managing Director, Client Development and Head of Middle Market, EMEA.
Irwin has worked at Marsh for 20 years and has held numerous senior client development roles. Previously, he was Managing Director, UK Southern Region and Head of EMEA Middle Market Client Development.
Marsh said “Irwin will work closely with Marsh’s business leaders across EMEA to increase new sales activity, with responsibility for delivering on Marsh’s new growth plan. In particular, he will focus on increasing renewable business and market share growth.”
David Batchelor, CEO of Marsh in EMEA, observed: “Growing our client base is fundamental to Marsh’s success in EMEA, both in the short and longer term.” He also cited Irwin’s “extensive experience in new client development” as an asset in new client development in the region
