Pioneer Underwriting, BMS Group’s recently launched Lloyd’s MGA, announced that Amy Fu joins the team as a Marine Underwriter.
BMS launched Lloyd’s Managing General Agent, Pioneer Underwriting, in April 2011 to “underwrite a diverse portfolio of business with an initial premium capacity of £62.5 million [$102.30 million]. The team is led by Darren Doherty, Managing Director.
Fu joins Pioneer from Swiss Re where she gained extensive knowledge of the Asian insurance market working in its offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Singapore. Prior to the insurance industry she worked as a financial analyst at Reuters in China and holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance.
Doherty noted: “BMS Group has made no secret of its ambition to grow the business, with underwriting being a core component of this growth. Amy will strengthen Pioneer’s current expertise and I’m looking forward to her joining the team.”
