UK-based global insurer RSA announced the appointment of Ian Hood as Group E-Business Director. He will be responsible for “driving growth and efficiency across RSA with electronic tools and systems, such as direct selling capabilities and broker self servicing options,” said the bulletin.
Hood joined RSA in 2009, heading up E-Business in its MORE TH>N division. He will start his new role immediately, and expressed delight at being given the opportunity to do so.
He also noted: “Online and electronic trading technology is becoming more and more important to RSA around the world as brokers, agents and customers wish to transact and communicate with us electronically rather than through more traditional channels.”
David Weymouth, RSA Group Operations and Risk Director, pointed to Hood’s “strong track record of delivering e-business solutions for MORE TH>N,” adding that he was the “obvious choice for this new role. We are building a team over the coming months to support RSA’s E-Business offering which will enable a more joined up approach across all our markets.”
