Willis UK & Ireland Appoints Wilkinson CEO, McCafferty President

October 25, 2011

Willis Group Holdings plc announced the appointment of Daniel Wilkinson as CEO, Willis United Kingdom & Ireland (WUKI), effective immediately. Willis also named Brendan McCafferty to the newly created post of WUKI President.

Wilkinson has been with Willis for 16 years and is the longest-serving member of the WUKI Executive team. He will lead 1,100 Associates in 22 offices across the UK. He has “extensive on-the-ground client-facing experience, which he gained while running the Cardiff, Birmingham and the Corporate Division of the UK,” said Willis.

Wilkinson began his career at a Lloyd’s Marine syndicate, and spent seven years broking for Miller Insurance and Fenchurch, before joining Willis in 1995. For the last five years, he has successfully built up the Corporate, Credit, Insolvency and Private Finance Initiative (PFI) units of WUKI, driving significant revenue and margin growth across all areas.

McCafferty, currently Managing Director of WUKI’s Commercial and Network businesses, will take on the newly created role of President of the division. He has been at Willis for over three years and was initially responsible for the creation of Willis Underwriting Programs prior to leading the Commercial business unit. Before coming to Willis, he was Finance Director for RSA’s UK Commercial division.

WUKI has been led, on an interim basis, by Willis Group President Grahame Millwater. Willis’ Ireland operation, under CEO Brian Curtis, will remain part of WUKI and will report to Millwater.

Millwater commented: “We see great growth potential in our UK & Ireland business and are fortunate to have an experienced and talented duo in Dan and Brendan to lead our dynamic team and deliver The Willis Cause to our clients.”
