RSA announced the appointment of Steve Slingsby as Global Program Director for Global Specialty Lines (GSL). He will work closely with the specialty lines teams, supporting the running of the GSL business.
Paul Donaldson, RSA Group Broker Relationship and Sales Director, noted Slngsby’s “extensive international experience.” He has “worked on major global projects across the Group and was part of the UK’s European team for three years. He was also responsible for much of the work that was done to create Global Marine in 2008.”
RSA explained that the GSL business “supports the insurance needs of large, risk managed and specialist businesses worldwide. It comprises of four specialties: Construction and Engineering; Marine; Renewable Energy and Risk Managed, offering sector expertise in each of these areas, spanning core insurance functions such as claims, operations and underwriting.”
Slingsby recently rejoined RSA from QBE Insurance where he was Head of Operations for UK Regions and European Markets since 2009. He was responsible for operational issues and management across its 8 regional branches in the UK and 16 European offices.
He previously worked for RSA between 1987 and 2009 in a variety of senior operational roles across the Group, including in Specialty Lines were he held global roles in Marine, Professional & Financial Risks and Risk Solutions.”
