Catlin Group Limited has formed a partnership with two specialist risk management consulting firms, which, it said, would “enhance the services it offers to clients with hijack, kidnap, extortion and wrongful detention exposures.”
The partnership with Drum Cussac and Compass Risk Management commenced as of the first of January 2012. Peter Dobbs, head of Catlin Asset Protection in London, explained that the service is designed to ensure that “our clients have access to the highest-quality response, prevention and maritime intelligence service, 24/7 wherever they operate.”
In addition Catlin explained that “over the past decade Drum Cussac has developed an international reputation for its understanding of maritime protection supported by a dedicated Maritime Operations Team and a purpose-built response centre based in Poole, UK.”
Jeremy Stampa Orwin, managing director of Drum Cussac, commented: “We are excited to be working with Catlin and Compass and look forward to developing a long and productive relationship together.”
Compass Risks Management specializes in the prevention and safe resolution of incidents of maritime piracy, kidnap and extortion. Managing director Leslie Edwards indicated the company was “delighted to have been selected by Catlin to work with Drum Cussac in providing an all-round service to ship owners and other insured clients.”
