Marsh & McLennan Companies announced that Alexander Moczarski, currently President and CEO of Guy Carpenter, has assumed the additional role of Chairman, Marsh & McLennan Companies International.
His new responsibilities include “oversight of the Company’s international strategy, as well as its expanding group of Country Corporate Officers located in regions around the world,” said the bulletin.
Prior to joining Guy Carpenter in 2011, Moczarski served as President and CEO of Marsh’s International Division, comprising all countries outside of the United States and Canada.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, joining Marsh in 1993 as director of planning and development for Argentina and Chile. In 2001, he became regional head for Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2004, he became head of the firm’s International Specialty Operations, a region that encompassed Africa, Asia, Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean. He became CEO of Marsh’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in 2006, and was appointed as the President and CEO of Marsh’s International Division in 2008.
“International and emerging markets play a key role in our long-term growth aspirations,” noted Dan Glaser, MarshMac’s Group President and COO. “With his vast experience, Alex Moczarski is the ideal person to drive our international growth agenda.”
Moczarski added that he is looking forward to “working with our executive team and local Country Corporate Officers to leverage the company’s impressive international footprint to strengthen and grow our global market position.”
