As of January first he will be based in Hiscox’s Hamilton, Bermuda office. Keith joins Hiscox from Ironshore where he was Vice President – Underwriter, with a wide range of responsibilities across the underwriting of hospital professional liability and healthcare risks.
He was also a co-founder of Ironshore’s Chicago office and a member of the startup IronHealth team. Prior to Ironshore, Keith’s 13 years of experience also includes a medical professional underwriting role at CNA.
Ian Thompson, Senior VP – Healthcare, commented: “Healthcare liability insurance for larger risks in the US such as hospitals, allied health and physician groups has been a strong underwriting performer as a class. The natural growth of our team here in Bermuda is based upon our comfort in this market and an aim to continue the expansion of our US healthcare book.”
He added that Keith “brings a strong record of innovation, an important distinction for our business, and will be a welcome addition to our team as we look to take advantage of market opportunities in 2013.”
Keith observed: “Hiscox’s healthcare team in Bermuda has rapidly established a name for itself in the US medical professional liability market and I am looking forward to joining the team and helping to build on their growing reputation.”
