Former Lloyd’s Chairman Max Taylor Joins Pioneer Underwriting Board
Recently formed – April 2011 – Pioneer Underwriting Limited announced that industry veteran Max Taylor has been appointed as Chairman of the Board, with immediate effect. Pioneer is an independent underwriting business within the BMS group of companies.
Taylor began his career with Willis’ Faber and Dumas in 1970. He has more than 40 years of industry experience covering both brokerage and underwriting organizations, which includes serving as Chairman of Lloyd’s and Deputy Chairman of Aon’s UK operations.
Pioneer’s CEO Darren Doherty expressed his pleasure that Taylor has accepted the position. He described Pioneer as “a dynamic, exciting venture and we needed a chairman whose experience and understanding matches our aspirations.”
