Someone should look into the relationship between the suicide of Pierre Walthier and the rapid termination of Mhayse Samalya of Farmers Insurance. Do a little digging and you’ll find there was a connection.

Seems like “undue pressure” is the nature of the business at
Zurich. I know of people who have worked there and complained
of how the Human Resources department is there for Zurich and doesn’t give a hoot about the employee. An employee goes to them in what they feel is confidentiality seeking assistance and HR just uses it against them. I personally know of a situation like this. The work environment has little to be desired, I know of several people who have left Zurich because of it. Zurich can publish all the reports it wants, they will all be sugar coated. Seems you pay the price if you work for this company. It is a shame that a persons job drives them to such desperation that they feel there is no hope. Condolences to Mrs. Wauthier

It seems no matter what the stress of a job, it’s no justification for suicide. We’ve all had horrible bosses, but how many of us thought of suicide as a solution to our job sress or dissatisfaction? If it even crosses your mind, GET SOME HELP please.

There might be other reasons why he did what he did, but blame can’t be placed on someone who puts undue stress on a coworker. Whatever happened to people being responsible for their OWN actions?

YOU are in charge of your career (and life in general). Vote with your feet if you don’t like the company you’re with.
