Berkshire Hathaway’s General Re has announced a number of senior appointments in the Asia Pacific region, as follows:
Pietro Toffanello will assume the role of Property/Casualty Regional Manager for Asia Pacific, in addition to his role of Managing Director of General Reinsurance Australia Ltd. He commented: “Today marks another important milestone on Gen Re’s journey in the Asia Pacific region. Our newly streamlined management structure embodies our strong dedication to better deliver our knowledge and resources to our local clients.”
Andrew Flitcroft will assume the role of Deputy Property/Casualty Regional Manager. Damien Leary will assume the role of Property/Casualty Manager for Australia and New Zealand. Rainer Schurmann will assume the role of Property/Casualty Manager for Asia. They will report to Toffanello in these newly created roles.
Tobias Pfau has been named Regional Chief Treaty Underwriter, with responsibility for the underwriting of Gen Re’s Treaty business in Asia Pacific.
