ANV Holdings BV announced it has strengthened its team of underwriters with two new hires in the Professional Lines division of ANV Syndicate 1861. Tracy Ambrose has been hired as Lead Underwriter for Professional Indemnity and Ritchie Last as Senior Underwriter, Financial Institutions

Global specialty insurer ANV also manages several Lloyd’s syndicates, and has expanded the team in order to grow the Professional Lines division at Syndicate 1861 and in the group as a whole.

“Personally for me and also for ANV as a firm, Professional Lines are part of our DNA,” said Matthew Fairfield, ANV’s founder and CEO. “Professional Lines is part of our heritage in the company. In addition to their support in the growth of our business directly within the Lloyd’s market, our proficiency in and commitment to these lines is a foundation for growth across our US and European MGU operations for the larger ANV group.”

Ambrose joins ANV from the position of Class Underwriter in Professional Indemnity at Catlin, where she spent the last ten years. She specializes in professional indemnity, and has held senior underwriting and brokerage positions at Chubb, Sun Alliance and Sedgwick.

Last is responsible for expanding ANV’s Financial Institutions market presence with a focus on asset and fund managers. He specializes in Errors & Omissions and Crime business located in both established and emerging markets, and brings to ANV a long history in professional lines from a brokerage perspective. He has held senior positions at Marsh FINPRO, Paragon and HSBC and more recently moved to underwriting at XL Insurance Company.

“Both Tracy and Ritchie bring key skills, unique perspectives and some new strategic relationships to enhance our Professional Lines offering,” said Richard Green Head of Professional Lines Underwriting at ANV Syndicate 1861. “Through their respective contributions to our team, we envisage a wide selection of opportunities, not only to expand our business, but also to address a wider variety of more complex and interrelated risks.”

Chris Jarvis, an active underwriter for ANV Syndicate 1861, noted: “Talented underwriters are the foundation of the historical success and the basis for continued growth of the London Market and our work within each line of business at ANV; adding that the additions to the team would “bring added strength and new perspectives into our Professional Lines team right now and in the long term.”
