Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) announced that it has appointed Amanda Sorsak to lead its Property & Energy Claims operation in Canada. She was previously Executive General Adjuster at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty in Toronto.
“Top-caliber people, providing customers with deep expertise locally, is foundational to our claims handling approach,” said David Crowe, BHSI’s Chief Claims Officer. He also noted that Sorsak’s “extensive experience handling large, complex property, energy, mining and builders risks claims will be invaluable to our customers in Canada.”
Before joining Allianz Sorsak held a variety of claims handling positions with increasing responsibilities at FM Global, including General Adjuster, Senior Adjuster, Staff Adjuster and Loss Prevention Consultant.
She earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. She Amanda is a licensed Professional Engineer of Ontario, and holds the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation.
