The UK’s Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) announced plans at its 3rd Annual General Meeting to hold its first UK MGA conference at the One America Square in London on 1 July 2015.
The organization has rapidly become one of London’s, and be definition, Lloyd’s, most important insurance associations. Following its launch in 2011, it now has over 100 members as of December 2014, representing £3.3 billion [$5.1 billion] in gross written premium.
The MGAA said the “members-only one day event will be opened by Jonathan Evans MP. It will also feature presentations from the Financial Conduct Authority and Lloyd’s. A full line-up will be announced in June.
“The conference format has been designed following consultation with MGAs and will enable attendees to learn more about the issues facing this sector while providing direct access to industry decision makers.”
The MGAA’s Managing Director Peter Staddon commented: “MGAs are now firmly established as a key element of the UK insurance market. By creating a conference designed specifically for their needs we intend to provide our members with a unique discussion forum and capacity sourcing environment that will bring together likeminded businesses to discuss and develop opportunities.”
