DUAL, the international underwriting agency, announced its global marine and energy business has started underwriting with support from CNA Hardy’s Lloyd’s syndicate.
DUAL is the underwriting arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, the London-based international insurance intermediary group.
Under the leadership of Bernt Hellman, DUAL Marine and Energy will provide specialist marine and energy insurance products. It aims to target niche risks not commonly introduced through conventional London distribution and is aimed primarily at the offshore industry.
Hellman joined DUAL last year to form the Global Marine and Energy Practice. The practice aims to expand DUAL’s marine and energy footprint globally creating a distribution platform of specialist products for brokers and clients.
For CNA Hardy, and the other supporting Lloyd’s syndicates, this marks the start of a new relationship with DUAL, the company said in a statement. They join more than 30 Lloyd’s syndicates, insurers and reinsurers supporting DUAL, an international underwriting agency that expects to write in excess of $1 billion gross written premiums in 2015. This new capacity was brought to DUAL by HB&A which is managed by Beach & Associates.
