ACE Insurance South Africa announced that Milenko Skoro, head of sales and distribution A&H, has been promoted to the newly created role of head of distribution, Sub-Saharan Africa as the company continues to strengthen its insurance capabilities in the region.
Working closely with the company’s underwriting team, Skoro will focus on generating profitable growth for ACE through new product development and distribution through reinsurance arrangements with locally licensed partners in the region. His appointment is effective immediately.
Skoro has more than nine years of insurance industry experience. He joined ACE from Etana, where he was head of accident and health. Prior to that, he held several management roles at AIG.
Skoro will remain based in ACE’s Sandton, South Africa office, reporting to Gary Jack, country president for ACE South Africa.
Jack said the appointment underscores the company’s commitment to growing its footprint across Sub-Saharan Africa. He added that Skoro is well positioned “to identify opportunities and build long-term mutually beneficial partnerships throughout the sub-saharan region.”
