RSA Promotes Middle to Role of Global Telematics Partnering Director

September 16, 2015

London-based RSA announced it has promoted Paul Middle to the role of global telematics partnering director. Effective immediately, Middle will be responsible for growing RSA’s telematics portfolio globally across both personal and commercial lines, working with the company’s core regions of UK & Ireland, Canada and Scandinavia to create best-in-class products.

He will report to Kenny Leitch, RSA’s global telematics director, and be based in the UK.

Middle, who has worked at RSA for almost 20 years, has been part of the RSA telematics team since it was created in 2012. Prior to this promotion, he was head of telematics partnering and was primarily responsible for identifying the right strategic partners to develop products.

“In recent years, our telematics portfolio has gone from strength to strength. In the UK alone, premiums have grown by 100 percent since the beginning of 2014, and in Norway we were the first insurer to launch a telematics app for drivers,” said Leitch.

“Our ambitions don’t stop there though and as we look to grow our telematics portfolio further it’s important that we have the right people in the team to achieve this. Paul’s significant experience, combined with his in-depth knowledge of the telematics market, makes him the ideal person for this job, and I look forward to continuing to work with him as we enter the next phase of our telematics strategy.”

Middle commented: “I’m delighted to be taking on this new role. While much of our focus has been on developing products in the UK and targeting young drivers, we are now starting to look at opportunities for expansion in the UK and other countries, across both personal and commercial markets. As one of the leading telematics providers, it’s important that RSA makes the most of this opportunity and I look forward to ensuring we achieve this.”
