Validus Re, the reinsurance division of Bermuda-based Validus Holdings Ltd., has appointed Jorge Beltran as executive vice president, head of Treaty, for Validus Reaseguros Inc.
In this new role, Beltran will be responsible for the implementation and execution of Validus Re’s treaty strategy in Latin America.
Beltran has been with Validus Reaseguros in Miami since 2007 and has over 23 years of underwriting experience. Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions at various leading companies including Liberty Mutual, SCOR, Swiss Re and Transatlantic.
Kean Driscoll, chief executive officer of Validus Re, commented: “Jorge’s promotion is a reflection of his leadership and experience, as well as his dedication to Validus Re and our clients. His considerable expertise is invaluable in positioning the company for future success as we continue to grow our Latin American reinsurance business.”
