Assicurazioni Generali has formed a new operational division called Global Business Lines & International, which will be led by Frédéric de Courtois who is moving from AXA Italy in September.
The new unit incorporates the existing Global Business Lines unit (made up of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial, Generali Employee Benefits, Generali Global Health and Europ Assistance). It also includes the regions: EMEA (led by Jaime Anchùstegui), Asia (led by Jack Howell) and the Americas (led by Antonio Cassio dos Santos).
Generali said de Courtois has held senior roles at many international companies in Europe and Asia, most recently as CEO of AXA in Italy, a role he has held since 2007.
Marco Sesana, currently chief insurance and operations officer of Generali Italia, has been appointed its chief executive officer and general manager. He succeeds Philippe Donnet, Italy country manager, who was appointed Generali’s group CEO in March.
