Everest Insurance Hires Aspen’s Sanders to Lead Europe Credit & Political Risk Business

Everest Re Group Ltd. announced that Paul Sanders has joined Everest Insurance as head of their European Credit and Political Risk insurance business.

Sanders joins Everest with over 20 years of experience in the London market as a broker, underwriter, and manager. His most recent role was head of Aspen Insurance’s credit and political risk business, which he joined in September 2014. Prior to that, he was vice president and regional manager UK at Zurich Insurance where he was responsible for managing the London market portfolio of political risk and credit business. He has also held a senior political risk broker role at Marsh/Sedgwick.

Based in London, Sanders will provide credit and political risk solutions to European-based customers in conjunction with Everest Insurance’s Ireland-based underwriting platform, Everest Insurance Ireland, dac., which has an A+ rating from S&P.

Commenting on the announcement, Jim Thomas, head of Credit and Political Risk at Everest Insurance, said: “The addition of a highly respected and experienced professional such as Paul furthers our mission of building a leading global credit and political risk business.”

Sanders and Thomas previously worked together for Zurich Insurance’s political risk team.
