AXIS Capital Holdings Ltd. announced that Marcus Pollak has been appointed to the newly created role of head of Product Center for AXIS Re.
Based in Zurich, Pollak will lead underwriting process and portfolio management activities for AXIS Re, and will report to Megan Thomas, chief underwriting officer, AXIS Re.
Pollak joins AXIS Re from PartnerRe, where he spent 17 years and was most recently head of Analysis and Reporting. He also served on the company’s senior management team. Prior to that, Pollak was the chief operating officer for Specialty Lines and the head of Credit and Surety.
“Marcus’ appointment as head of our newly created Product Center is an important step towards establishing a modern and sophisticated approach to underwriting and portfolio management,” said Thomas. “A proven leader with deep reinsurance underwriting and portfolio management expertise, Marcus is extremely well positioned to support the execution of AXIS Re’s goals and will be a valuable member of the Reinsurance Products team.”
