Ed, the London-based reinsurance, wholesale and specialty broker, announced the appointment of Laura Skaanild as client director, Professional and Executive Risk. She will report to Paul Richards, managing director of Professional and Executive Risk.
Skaanild will focus on managing and developing Ed’s client base in the financial and professional services sector in the UK, US and offshore financial centers.
She brings 18 years of legal and insurance experience to Ed, joining from Willis Towers Watson, where she served as head of the GB Financial Institutions (FI) Major Accounts Team. Skaanild joined Willis in 2012 and held a number of senior roles at the company. She began her career as a solicitor at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in 2000, before moving to Zurich as a coverage solicitor in 2011.
