Generali has appointed Steven Zuanella as group chief digital officer. He has responsibility for driving digital transformation, data analytics initiatives and innovation across the group.
He reports to Frédéric de Courtois, Generali’s general manager.
Effective on April 1st, Zuanella joined Generali from RSA Insurance, where he designed and drove the group’s digital transformation agenda.
From 2015 to 2016, he was chief digital officer at Zurich Insurance, driving digital transformation across its UK businesses, with focus on marketing, distribution, sales, underwriting and claims.

From 2009 to 2015, he was chief digital officer at Bupa, the international healthcare group. Prior to that, he was head of online and e-commerce at Prudential Plc and he also held several roles at Barclays Plc, including online banking director for the retail bank.
Zuanella has two bachelor’s degrees: in European business from Brunel University in London and in financial services from the University of Manchester (UMIST) in the UK. He also participated in an executive leadership program at London Business School.
