Liberty Specialty Hires Nelson, Ciraci and Prout to Boost Renewables Offering
Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, announced strategic hires in the energy division to bolster its power and renewables offering.

Alex Nelson, Andrea Ciraci and Oliver Prout join the energy team as underwriting manager and senior underwriters, respectively, bringing more than three decades of combined experience in underwriting lead business.

Reporting to James Boyle, head of energy, the appointments support LSM’s power and renewables team alongside its established oil and gas proposition.
Nelson joins LSM as underwriting manager for power and renewables, having previously led Chaucer Group’s onshore energy portfolio.
Ciraci spent nine years at AXA and AXA XL underwriting power, renewables, downstream and overseeing the UK nuclear portfolio.

Prout has seven years of experience in the London market, underwriting lead renewable energy contracts, most recently at Chaucer.

BMS Promotes Wookey to MD, Bermuda Product Line Development
BMS, the London-based independent re/insurance broker, announced the promotion of Kian Wookey to the newly created role of managing director, Bermuda Product Line Development.
Based in Bermuda, he will report to Mark Lawson, managing director, North American Direct & Facultative.
Wookey joined BMS in 2019 and held the position of director in the property team for six years. Prior to this, he held the role of partner at JLT Specialty. Wookey started his career at Lloyd & Partners as a producing broker for US Property business.
In his new role, Wookey will retain his involvement in property while undertaking a broader remit. This will include implementing BMS’s broader strategy as it diversifies its offering in the region and develops new insurance product lines across the Bermuda platform.
